A Wildlife Haven
Tarangire is an exceptional park in that apart from the fame it owes to its elephants. It has lions lying under acacia trees; it has stealthy leopards prowling the brush, and cheetahs sprinting gracefully across the plains. Then there are others-a grazing giraffe or two, a herd of zebras or wildebeests on migration, and kudu and oryx darting colorful through the vegetation. Most spirited in the seasonal migration, Tarangire comes alive with activity when thousands have come to the park to escape drought, creating a hubbub and a lot of energy.
